Around the World of Sceneries

The Round the World Tour is complete. On November 4th 2007 SE-SAA landed back in Sweden after a spin around the Globe.

This was the Plan: To fly around the world in my ETOPS Boeing 737-700 and visit the very best airport sceneries in my Flightsim world. Some airports are just fantastic and I truly admire people who can do great sceneries and then let you use it for free. This is my thanks to all makers of sceneries and aircrafts and liveries and little things that make your experience in FS9 so much better. Thanks.

The Plan included sceneries listed further down. I flew the actual date and in real weather, so I couldn't decide what runway to use or weather which made this a real flying experience of sorts.

Screenshots are posted in my Web Albums at Picasa.

Final report

This was fun. FS-flying is an enjoyable way to spend some time, eh, much time really. It is impossible to make an accurate and representative selection of sceneries to visit. There are so many. I have over 400 downloaded sceneries in my FS9 scenery list. Some are very simple och moderatly accurate but most are beautiful. And I imagine there will be even more to come. FSX have not stopped people from using or creating stuff for FS9.

I would like to thank those creators who were mentioned in my visited sceneries pages AND everybody else whose work I and many, many others are using. Thanks!

Some statistics of Round the World in FS9:

Time span: 13 Sep - 4 Nov 2007

Distance according to flightplans made: 48 736 nm

Actual air time: 109 hours 39 minutes

Fuel used: 823 480 Virtual lbs or 102 900 Virtual gallons according to flight plans incl start, taxi and holding

Shortest flight: Toronto - Buffalo/Niagara 63 nm in 17 minutes actual air time

Longest flight: Trondheim - Toronto 3 162 nm in 7 hours 25 minutes actual air time

If someone would offer me to fly this in real (as pax) I would do it even if I probably would need some time to sleep off jet lag now and then. Not a problem in FS9.

Now I go back to do some regular flying, using other Saturn Airways airliners as well.
