GB Airways Vickers Vsicount Dart engines up close

Select Historical Flight

Flying oldies is a nice way to relive the high flying past. Some aircrafts still fly but some we will never see in the air again. But in the Flight Simulator they are up and flying about. Here are a couple of my favourites.

image

Douglas DC-3 in "Daisy" livery

Most famous of them all. Default model. I plan to make a repaint in Flygande Veteraner, Daisy, SE-CFP, livery.

Panel, default.

Sound, default.

Sud Aviation Caravelle III in old SAS colours

A nice work by AFG/Esa Kaihlanen, Tommy Tomov, Ari Kaihlanen, Benoit Gaurant, Rui Cristina, Mark Cranston, Benoit Plamondon

Panel included.

Sound included.

My first flight in real was in a Caravelle. My love. But this one is complicated to fly or even to start the engines. It will take some time to learn.

GB Airways Vickers Viscount 800

Vickers Viscount 800 in GB Airways livery

Model by Ricks Paintshop

Panel by Saverio Maurri

Sound by Ryuji Ozawa. Oh, how I love the Rolls Royce Dart sound, true music in my ear. I love the engine start sequence, a slow rising squeaking ear penetrating beautiful noise. Mmm.

Video featuring this Viscount doing a pattern around Prestwick on my YouTube

Handley Page H.P. 42 Imperial Airways

Model by Derek Palmer

Panel by Saverio Maurri.

Sound, undecided, the Vickers Vimy default sound for now.

This is truly the Jewel in the Crown. An amazing flying machine, flying in an amazing time, to amazing places for an amazing airline the British Airways forerunner Imperial Airways.

Check out my video on H.P.42 at YouTube.

Saab JA37 Viggen in Swedish Air Force light grey colours

Model by Kazunori Ito

Panel included

Sound by Per Bjorkqvist and Kirk Olsson. Sound recordings made at F4 Froson, nearest Air Force base from me.

Flying the Viggen is an oustanding experience. You just can't hold her. 100 000 horse powers in your lap. I do miss Viggen and her air display performances, coming in to a short noisy landing, reversing and going backwards and turning on the runway and making a thunderous departure again in the opposite direction.

De Havilland D.H. 114 Heron in Prinair colours
