Outside Environment
Real Environment. Oh, boy, this is really a tremendous improvement in the weather, the sky, the waves, the lights, the reflections. Used to be payware. Now it's free. Ground Environment. This complement Real Environment by enhancing the terrain all over the globe. Stunning landscape, meadows, forests, mountains, villages, cities and strightens up the autogen buildings. Amazing..! (29 dollars). Airport Environment Upgrade 7. Gets you better looking terminals and apron surface, taxiways and runways and markings, an overall enhancement.
New contrails. Default contrails are very short. This makes them longer and more real looking. Read more at Flyways. They have several interesting FS Tools. Add-on sceneries (my current count: app'x 400 installed). Well, well, you can spend all your time downloading and installing sceneries in your FS9. There is a plethora of add-on sceneries and sites to download it all from. Check MSFS Gateway for sites. Thank you, all of you who make sceneries. They may be fair, good or brilliant or plain, simple or detailed, but you make them and offer them to us. (To be fair I have done and uploaded a couple of simple sceneries myself). Read more in A Flight in FS9 Around the world EZ-scenery. This software lets you put scenery objects directly into the Flight Simulator, place it, move it, scale it, save it. And, presto, you have a new enhanced scenery, wherever you want it in the FS World. Payware from Abacus.
JABBgl. Sometimes you install a scenery, often if it is made for an earlier version of FS, that have AI-traffic and your aircraft plowing deep in the gound or floating in the air. This can be rectified by this little gadget by Jacky Brouze. Trafffic 2005. Now, this is a major uplift for any Flight Simulator world; real traffic in real airliners, flying real timetables (almost). And - you can tweak this yourself in true FS spirit by adding and removing new aircrafts, airlines, flights and liveries and change things at your will. I have uploaded a lot of new airlines, airliners and liveries to Just Flight which handles Traffic now. Traffic 2005 is payware. All my uploads of new airlines, flightplans and liveries at Traffic2005. AI Smooth. This is a module in Traffic 2005 which prevent a lot of those stupid go arounds that Flight Simulator's ATC makes AI-traffic do and causing you to do as well. But to be fair, Microsoft never meant AI-traffic to be so intense. The real AI-traffic possibilities is something that other people have found out and developed.
AFCad is a nice piece of software to make and adjust runways, taxiways, aircraft parkings and the way AI-traffic taxi. Lee Swordy made it. Is included in Traffic 2005. AI Reverser sound. Nice feature to have jetliners and turboprops reverse roar after landing. A Flyways gadget. AI Start up sound. When AI-traffic start to taxi they by default just go away without the start sequence. This little Flyways gizmo add that. Great, huh?
Aircrafts
I have lots of aircrafts installed. My favourites get my own livery, Select Airways, Limelight Airlines and Accord Airways. Read more in Select Airways

FSNavigator 4.7. An absolute must for me in flight planning, moving map and flight following. Make your flight plan by drag and drop, change it by drag and drop again, follow your aircraft over the world, set navaids by, yes, drag and drop, make your flight fully automatic, use SIDs and STARs, make holding patterns which your aircraft follows automatically. Was free for 20 times to use, then a small fee. Is not available or supported anymore. Metar/TAF Decoder on the Electronic Kneeboard. To be able to plan your arrival at your destination, check out the weather beforehand on the Kneeboard; winds, visibility, pressure, clouds, rain or snow. Nice to have a use for the kneeboard. Groundhandling. A Push Back function is included in FS9. It is very basic though. This Groundhandling module by Rob Barendregt lets you control it a bit more and set taxiing speed and break power.
VSpeed. This little piece calls out your adjusted speeds for takeoff; 80 knots, V1, V2, VR, Positive rate - gear up. GPWS. Ground Proximity Warning System. Tells you very sternly if you are to close to the ground. Calls out Windshear and Bank angle and other. It also counts down to landing, you know, 100, 50, 40, 30, 20 and 10. FS Panel Studio. With this nice piece of software you can adjust or build your own cockpit panels.
